US Secretary of state John Kerry said there could be no military solution to fix Iraq crisis. Mr Kerry said the only possibility is to set up a new government that empowers people in northern and western Iraq which is now under the control of the Isis.
Mr Kerry's comments came after a discussion with Kurdish leaders in the northern city of Irbil. Over 1000 people were killed in the country uptill June and most of those killed are civilians. Kerry and most other political leaders in the region agree that there is no military solution to the crisis.
Kerry's talks with Kurdish leaders came as they drew up plans to seek independence from the rest of Iraq. Kerry has conveyed to the Kurdish leaders that an united Iraq is stronger than divided Iraq.
