Apple Inc unveiled its new iCloud and other software upgrades to have an edge over external applications such as the Dropbox and WhatsApp. iCloud drive is an storage application that replicates the features of external app Dropbox.
The service enables Apple users to store files on remote servers and access it at any point of time through iOS devices, Mac or Windows enabled PCs. Users can avail free storage of upto 5 GB. The new service will be available to Apple users in a sequence of software upgrades that would be pinned along with other features of Apple to ensure its use by all Apple users.
The software upgrade would be made available for smartphones and personal computers. Apple has upgraded its iMessage app with features that are similar to WhatsApp. iMessage users would be able to avail services such as voice clips and short video exchange.
The iMessaging service was also modified to include bulk message creation and modification features. The software upgrades were unveiled during its annual conference for software developers. The company also introduced HealthKit software that links Apple devices to third party health devices. Apple devices would keep record of vital statistics of users and is enabled to contact hospitals directly if abnormalities are detected in healthcare statistics.
