2012 will be the year of 'Super Heroes'.
With 'The Avengers' 2012 will  witness the alliance of super heroes in big screen.
The film is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name.
Avengers will feature the alliance of super heroes like Iron Man,Captain America,Thor,Bruce Banner(Hulk),Hawkeye,Black widow,Nick Fury against badass Loki.
Director Joss Whedon will helm the film.
After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011.
Joss Whedon rewrote the script that was originally written by Zak Penn.
In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.
At the New York Comic Con producer Kevin Feige said "Iron Man 3 will be the first of what we sort of refer to as phase two of this saga that will culminate, God willing, in Avengers 2"
This gives us hope for a sequel for the film.
The film is slated for release in May,2012.
